Christian school student churn up the 'old days'

Olympic Christian School celebrated its second Pioneer Day on Friday, Nov. 20.

Students participated in hands-on activities including churning butter and spinning wool into yarn.

“They like to work with their hands and feel and make things,” said Gwen Rudzinski, a second-grade teacher.

First-graders made cinnamon bread that they kneaded and baked themselves.

Parents and Clallam County Historical Society volunteers led groups at stations where they demonstrated historical artifacts and shared information.
