Combined Federal Campaign invites applicants
Clallam County 501(c)(3) charitable organizations are encouraged to apply for participation in the 2011 Greater Olympic Peninsula Combined Federal Campaign. The application and additional information are available at http://gopcfc.org. Completed applications must be received at the above address no later than 4 p.m. Friday, April 1.
How to grow fruit trees

Chamber, public to welcome new director
A welcoming reception for Shelli Robb-Kahler, Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce’s new executive director, is scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the chamber office at 1192 E. Washington St. The reception is open to the public. For more information, call 683-6197.
Vegan group shares meal
A vegetarian/vegan group holds a potluck at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 4, in the Community Services Center of the Sequim Seventh-day Adventist Church, 30 Sanford Lane, Sequim. Bring a favorite vegetarian dish to share and join in a discussion on preparing healthy dishes. Call 683-1414 or 358-0150.
Laff Pack holds workshop
The Laff Pack Clown Alley Workshop will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Dominion Terrace Clubhouse on Norman Street, off South Third Avenue in Sequim.

Grief support series offered
Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County offers a free five-week grief support series. The series begins 1-3 p.m. Monday, April 11, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave., Sequim.

Natural landscaping taught
Two natural landscaping classes are offer-ed in April-May. “Larger rural lot landscaping” is from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, April 14-28, at the Dungeness River Audubon Center, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, Sequim, with field trips scheduled on Saturdays, April 16 and April 23.
“City lot landscaping” is from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, April 19-May 3, at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St., with Saturday field trips on April 23 and April 30.

Brick fundraiser for Sarge’s Place
The nonprofit North Olympic Regional Veterans Housing Network announces a brick fundraiser to support Sarge’s Place, a transitional and permanent supportive veterans housing project opening this July in Forks. Bricks may be purchased for $50 each until June. A small replica take-home brick is available for $15 more. Bricks will be engraved with the name and branch of the service of the honored veteran.

MAC Nite tickets sold
The MAC Nite Dinner Auction, a fundraiser for the Museum & Arts Center in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley, begins at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Sunland Golf and Country Club, 109 Hilltop Drive, Sequim. Tickets are $65 per person — $650 for a corporate table seating eight — and include a catered dinner, live music and silent/live auctions. Tickets are at the MAC Exhibit Center, 175 W. Cedar St. Sequim.
