It’s going to be a self-serve Santa extravaganza this year at the 2011 Santa’s Breakfast, a community winter celebration hosted at Sequim High School’s cafeteria on Dec. 3.
The Santa’s Breakfast buffet breakfast features ham, eggs, potatoes, fruit salad, cinnamon rolls, coffee and juice.
Featured guests Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive via fire truck at about 8:30 a.m. Photos with Santa are free or by donation. All proceeds benefit Citizens for Sequim Schools.
Poinsettias on the tables will be available for purchase and benefit the Helen Haller Parent-Teacher Organization. The Sequim High School agriculture department will be selling wreaths outside, with the “Snort” tractor on display.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a food item to donate to the Sequim Food Bank. A collection box will be located near the front entrance.
About 50 percent of the Sequim School District’s students are on free or reduced lunch schedules and many of the families depend on donations to attend, said Sarah Bedinger, Citizens for Sequim Schools supporter and school board member.
“Making a donation so that families can attend is an excellent way for folks to help young families make the season bright,” she said.
Donations to support needy families may be sent to Citizens for Sequim Schools, 215 Lester Way, Sequim, WA 98382. Make checks payable to CFSS and note “Santa’s Breakfast donation” on the memo line.
