Kiwanis Club fetes Sequim businesses

Dungeness Bay Wine and Cheese is the first business to be honored by a new Kiwanis Club program.
Co-owner Craig Haught will accept the award and give a presentation about his business at the club’s meeting at noon Thursday, Feb. 18, at Paradise Restaurant, 703 N. Sequim Ave.
Leaders of Kiwanis Club of Sequim-Dungeness’ new program will select monthly, by drawing, a Sequim business for recognition. The businesses must be listed in the phone book, have been in business for more than a year, be for
profit and be locally owned.
The program’s aim is to encourage Sequim residents to shop locally and to learn about the diversity of small businesses here. Local businesses involved in community service will be asked to share their experiences. For Kiwanis information, call 681-0805.
Dungeness Bay Wine and Cheese is at 123 E. Washington St., Sequim. A family trip through the countrysides of Europe inspired the retail venture into wines and fine foods.
Established more than 10 years ago in downtown Sequim, the store that originally sold antiques was transformed into a shop that sells wine, cheese, Dungeness Valley products, gourmet condiments, coffee, specialty teas and imported chocolates. Gift baskets also are available.
Hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Contact 681-2778 or craig@dungenessbaywineandcheese.com.
