Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, 728 E. Front St., Port Angeles, reaches its first anniversary on Friday, Dec. 4.
According to Habitat’s Jim Taft, the store has helped the organization:
_ Pay for two-thirds of its newest house, which is under construction.
_ Recycle more than 126 tons of material.
_ In partnership with OlyCAP, the ReStore has been active in the Community Jobs Participant Program, serving as a worksite training facility. To date, there are nine former and six current OlyCAP participants.
Of that number, two former participants have secured permanent employment in the county and one has been accepted to Peninsula College’s welding program.
