Truck totalled in 3-car wreck Thursday

Two people were taken to Olympic Medical Center with back and neck injuries late Thursday morning following a three-vehicle collision at Sherbourne Road and U.S. Highway 101 six miles west of Sequim.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the three vehicles were eastbound on U.S. Highway 101 approaching Sherbourne Road when a Toyota pickup truck driven by Jay E. Ketchum, 53, Sequim stopped to turn left.

Then a GMC pickup truck driven by John L. Chrisman, 66, Neah Bay started to pass on the right.

A Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Walter J. Fuhrman, 81, Forks rear-ended the GMC pickup, then rear-ended the Toyota pickup.

Fuhrman was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. He was cited for speeding.

The Dodge Ram sustained an estimated $2,000 damage and was driven from the scene.

Carol J. Chrisman, 66, Neah Bay was a passenger in the GMC pickup. She suffered neck and back pain and was taken to Olympic Medical Center. She was wearing a seatbelt.

The GMC sustained an estimated $3,000 damage and was driven from the scene.

Ketchum was taken to Olympic Medical Center for treatment of neck and back injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.

His Toyota pickup truck was totalled and left at the scene, which was at Affordable Roofing.
