Welty, former Sequim pastor, found guilty

Former Sequim pastor Steven Welty was found guilty of six counts of child rape, six counts of child molestation and six counts of incest by Clallam County Superior Court judge Brooke Taylor today, Oct. 6.

Welty waived his right to a jury trial Monday morning.

Taylor said he was impressed by the testimony of Welty’s victim, who is 14 years old.

Taylor listened to two days of testimony and evidence presented by Ann Lundwall, the prosecutor.
