Clallam pot list expands

The latest list of applicants for a marijuana license, released by the Washington Liquor Control Board on Monday, Dec. 10, shows four different entities are seeking a license to grow and process marijuana in Clallam County, while three have applied for a retail license.

Uncle Jim’s Buds is seeking a Tier 1 producers license for a facility to be located at 1641 Taylor Cutoff Road. A Tier 1 license would allow for a greenhouse of up to 2,000 square feet.

The other three applicants are all seeking Tier 2 licenses, which would allow for between 2,000 and 10,000 square feet of plants. Peninsula Cannabis hopes to site its facility at 3368 E. Highway 101; Starcrisp Farms, 2564 Hooker Road; and Tropic Grow, 1430 Marine Drive.

Green Orchard has applied for three retail licenses, all for its current location at 333A E. First St. in Port Angeles, while Hidden Bush, LLC, has asked for a retail license at 2840 East Highway 101.

Weeds has sought the only license for Sequim, naming 1200 W. Washington St., Suite 105, as its planned location.

The Liquor Control Board has established that Clallam County can have up to six retail licenses — one in Sequim, two in Port Angeles and three in the county.

There also are limits on the square footage that can be dedicated to growing marijuana in the state.

Officials with the Washington Liquor Control Board also note that these applications are subject to further review before being approved. If the demand for licenses outstrips the availability, the licensees likely will be determined through a lottery.
