Learn to prevent falls

Matt Newell, a paramedic with Clallam County Fire District 3, will present a free WOW! Working on Wellness Forum entitled “Preventing Falls” at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 N. Blake Ave., Sequim. Every year, one out of three people who are age 65 or older take a fall. Of these, 20-30 percent (or 40 percent in Clallam County) suffer moderate to severe injury, which makes it difficult for them to get around.

Newell will share tips and general information about how you can avoid falling in the first place by changing some simple things in your own home and in your daily life. Call 582-0218.
