Palm Parade walks PT this Sunday

This Sunday, April 1, Sequim churchgoers join the 21st Palm Sunday Jesus Parade in Port Townsend with participants coming from across the peninsula.

The event helps begin “Holy Week,” which leads into Easter one week later.

Organizers encourage participation that celebrates Jesus’ walk into Jerusalem. Past events included a man dressed as Jesus on a donkey, antique cars, horses and more.

The Rev. Jonathan Simonson of Sequim Vineyard leads music from a flatbed truck while participants carry palms, balloons and banners.

Those interested in attending should go to the Townsite Plaza across from the ferry dock at 2:30 p.m. The parade begins at 3 p.m. with refreshments following at Adams Street Park.
