Shipley Center to burn mortgage

Shipley Center, formerly Sequim Senior Activity Center, will host a mortgage burning ceremony from 2:30-3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 921 E. Hammond St. Through the efforts of many donors the center was able to pay off the mortgage that was taken out to expand its current location in 2002. Efforts began last year to pay off the remaining $105,000 before the final balloon payment was due in 2014. Refreshments will be provided.
