The community’s Christmas spirit comes together this Thursday at the 66th Toys for Sequim Kids sponsored by Sequim Community Aid.
It offers parents and guardians in financial need the opportunity to select toys, clothes, blankets and household items for babies to eighth-graders on on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, in Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 N. Blake Ave. Parents/guardians must provide proof of residency within the Sequim School District boundaries.
Through the year, Scouts, the fire department’s Santa’s Toy and Food Brigade, real estate agents, clubs, giving trees, individuals and local agencies gather items.
Last year they assisted 205 parents and 533 children within Sequim School District boundaries.
Throughout the year, Sequim Community Aid provides assistance for electricity, water and rent bills and deposits to families in need. To apply for assistance, call Sequim Community Aid’s beeper at 681-3731.
