I-1329 is an initiative by WAmend, a coalition of Washington state grassroots organizations calling for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to reduce the influence of money on elections and government policy.
The group says 250,000 valid signatures need to be collected in the next five months to get the initiative on the November 2014 statewide ballot.
Volunteer sign-ups and training are set for Clallam and Jefferson counties. One is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6, in the Carver Room at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. A meeting in Sequim is slated for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 1236 Holland Road.
