Balkan stars for Clackamas

Clackamas Community College’s Taylor Balkan was named the NWAACC South Region’s setter/Player of the Week for week three.

Balkan was also named MVP of her team’s host tournament in Oregon City, Ore., on Sept. 21-22.

The Cougars topped Spokane in five sets in the title match.

As of Sept. 27, the Cougars are 17-6, the best mark among six teams in the NWAACC South Region.

Balkan, a freshman at Clackamas, is a 2013 Sequim High graduate. She was an all-Olympic League first team setter in 2012.
