In just his second year of competition, Blake Bryant is making this mountain bike racing look easy.
The Sequim native finished third in the junior expert class _ one rank below professional — at the NW Cup Downhill Mountain Bike race at Port Angeles’ Dry Hill in July.
Bryant, a junior this fall at Sequim High School, attributes this year’s success to the training he receives from Kerri Cawyer of Inside Out Fitness and Nutrition in Port Angeles.
He is also sponsored by Mike’s Bikes and SixSixOne.
In school, Bryant maintains a 3.90 grade-point-average and plans to go to Western Washington University to earn his degree in engineering.
