College Basketball: Peninsula College hosts ‘Madness’ on Saturday

Peninsula College basketball tips off this weekend with a reception for fans and boosters on Friday and the annual Pirate Madness event on Saturday.

The Pirate reception Friday begins at 6 p.m. in Keegan Hall, across from the gym. It offers an opportunity for fans and boosters to meet the coaches, hear them give a brief talk about their programs and also to hear from the players who will make up the 2013-14 Pirate men’s and women’s teams. Light refreshments will be served.

Then on Saturday, following their 1 p.m. coaches clinic, the Pirates will lace up for a scrimmage at 3 p.m. in the Pirate gym, followed by a slam dunk contest and a three-point shooting contest.

Admission to both events is free.
