Duce sets school record in opener

Sequim’s bowlers had a bit of a hiccup to kick off the winter prep sports seasons – not enough to complete team scoring – but at least one Wolf is ready to go.

Sequim High senior Kim Duce broke school records for single and two-game series in a loss to Klahowya on Nov. 9.

Duce bowled a 224 game, topping her own record she set last season by three pins, while her 388 series broke her 2009-2010 mark by 29 pins.

Despite not having enough bowlers, the Wolves and Eagles played anyway, with Klahowya picking up the 7-0 victory. Miranda Bailey led Klahowya with a 197 game and 365 series.

Sequim was slated to bowl against North Mason on Nov. 16 – match results were unavailable at press time. Sequim is at Bremerton on Nov. 18 and at Olympic on Nov. 30.
