It took a little extra time, but Sequim’s girls soccer squad showed they have all the momentum in this Olympic League rivalry.
Kayla Hagberg scored the game-winning penalty kick goal in overtime as the Wolves topped North Mason 3-2 on Oct. 2, giving Sequim a two-game season sweep of the Bulldogs.
Two days later, North Kitsap played the role of rude hosts, knocking off Sequim 2-0 in Poulsbo. Viking Cassie Marcotte put NK up 1-0 with a penalty kick score in the 27th minute and then earned an assist as Jacci Rock scored an insurance goal at 52 minutes.
Sequim hosts Olympic tomorrow, Oct. 11; junior varsity starts at 5 p.m. and varsity plays at 6:45 p.m.
The Wolves play at Port Townsend on Oct. 16, and at home versus Bremerton on Oct. 18 before finishing the regular season at Port Angeles on Oct. 23.
