North Kitsap’s swim crew left little doubt that it is an Olympic League powerhouse last week, topping Sequim 117-59 on Oct. 4.

The Vikings swept all but one event and took first and second in six events overall, getting two individual wins apiece from Ellie Gallagher (100 butterfly, 100 breaststroke), Kailey Russell (200 IM, 500 free) and Serita Solis (50 free, 100 free).

Emily Van Dyken was Sequim’s lone varsity diver and took first place.

Earning second-place swims for the Wolves were Kelsie MacDonald (200 IM), Dani Barrow (500 free) and Julie Miller (100 breaststroke).

Miller’s breaststroke time (1:22.98) is a district meet-qualifying time, according to West Central District 2A standards.

Sequim’s effort was nearly 30 points better than last year’s matchup between the Olympic League foes; NK topped the Wolves 126-39 last fall.

Sequim is at Bremerton on Oct. 11, and at Klahowya on Oct. 18.
