BMX group cancels Sep. 10 date
Port Angeles BMX is canceling its Sept. 10 race due to a lack of racing day support.
Many riders are racing at the SeaTac BMX track’s state championships that weekend anyway, said PABMX organizer Geri Thompson.
Port Angeles BMX resumes Sunday racing Sept. 19 until the end of October.
SkyRidge scramble set
The SkyRidge Golf Course (7015 Old Olympic Highway) is home to a three-person scramble, starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18.
Cost is $120 per team; fee includes lunch, team KPs and team long-putt contests.
Space is limited to the first 22 teams.

P.A. chamber hosts golf tourney
The Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts a golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Peninsula Golf Club in Port Angeles.
The two-person scramble starts at 11:30 a.m.
Cost is $65 per player or $30 for Peninsula Golf Club members.

Pirates host hoops clinic
The Peninsula College basketball program hosts the Peninsula Pirate Back-to-School Basketball Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 18.
The clinic, held at the college gym at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., is open to boys and girls ages 7-17.
Cost is $25; group and team pricing are available.
Instruction is from new Pirate men’s team head coach Lance Von Vogt and current Pirate players and staff.
The NWAACC clinic for players ages 7-12 has a check-in at 8:30 a.m. and goes through noon.
The Pac 10 clinic for players ages 13-17 has a 12:30 p.m. check-in and lasts through 4 p.m.

GolfToberFest comes to The Cedars course
On Sunday, Oct. 10, The Cedars at Dungeness hosts GolfToberFest, a tournament featuring two-person teams with three, nine-hole styles of play.
The first nine holes are a scramble, the second nine are alternate shot and the final nine holes are best-ball format.
There are three divisions of play: gross, net and Callaway.
Cost is $70 per person; fee includes range balls, carts, KP contest, cigars, beer on the course (every three holes), German-style lunch, side games and about $1,500 in prizes.
Play starts at 10 a.m. at the course, 1965 Woodcock Road.
