A 22-year-old area man is being held in the Clallam County Corrections Facility on $10,000 bail after being arrested for possession of child pornography.
Shelby Bush was booked for possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct in the first degree a Class B felony on Sept. 17.
Earlier this year in March, deputies were alerted to a laptop computer that possibly contained a sexually suggestive image of a naked female under the age of 5 years old. According to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, Bush abandoned the computer when he was asked to leave a Solmar residence. The image was found by another occupant of the house, who notified the sheriff’s office.
Deputies obtained search warrants to seize the computer and to have it analyzed by computer forensics detectives with the Washington State Patrol.
On Sept. 12, deputies received a preliminary report by the state patrol that the computer contained multiple depictions of both male and female children between the ages of 4-12 years old engaged in various sex acts.
Bush was arrested in Adams County.
Each depiction is considered a separate offense. The difference between first or second degree possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct is based on the subject matter in the depictions and the second degree is a Class C felony.
