River Center to host its annual Nature Mart

For the eighth consecutive year the staff and volunteers at the Dungeness River Audubon Center are preparing for the Holiday Nature Mart.

The event brings together a collage of unique and creative handcrafted gifts ranging from ornaments and scarves, to pet toys and treats.

“It started out as a one-day event and now it’s a two-day event and seems to grow each year,” Julie Jackson, chairman for Nature Mart, said. “Some of the crafters have been meeting since the beginning of the year to create and design their items.”

Each purchase at Nature Mart supports the center’s educational programs, including all proceeds acquired from this year’s planned raffle for a Cowichan wool sweater.

Other activities include a bake sale, wreath making and the Sequim Rotary Club will be selling lunches.
