Author MacLaine readies ‘Pan’ sequel

A limited number of pre-published copies of local author Lindy MacLaine’s forthcoming book, “The Curse of the Neverland,” will be available for sale at the Soroptimist Gala Gift Show, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St.
MacLaine says her book is a modern-day version of Neverland starring girls. The magical island is dying of a fairy’s vanity, a pirate’s greed and a dragon’s appetite — its only hope lies with Peter Pan’s orphan granddaughter, Piper, and her motley group of fellow foster girls.
“It officially comes out in hardback March 12, 2015,” MacLaine says, “but I begged my publisher Kelly Lenihan of Artisan Bookworks to make some available in time for the holidays.
“It’s a great gift from hip grandmothers and cool aunts for late elementary and middle school-aged girls.”
The author will be there to autograph copies.
