Sue Meyer, RSVP coordinator for Olympic Community Action Program, will present a free WOW! Working on Wellness Forum entitled “Improve Your Health: Volunteer!” at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., in Sequim.

Learn a little about the RSVP story and where the volunteers are now serving in the community, and understand how volunteering can influence and benefit you personally.

Discover some of the current opportunities available to use your experience, knowledge and wisdom. You can become involved in activities that provide new discoveries, renewed vitality, increased energy and well-being, too.

Find out how you could participate in a program where you could have a chance to learn something new, to know you are making a real impact on the lives of people in your community and to enjoy the company of other volunteers making a difference every day.

Meyer moved to the Olympic Peninsula in 2004 where she now works interacting with elders and children with special needs and helping volunteers find a “good fit” for the talents and interests that they have to share. Meyer says that “volunteering is a gift you give yourself.”

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic—Sequim’s free clinic. The clinic provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members and is supported by more than 70 volunteers, including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations from the Sequim community and beyond.

The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients on Mondays and Thursdays at 5 p.m.

Individuals interested in supporting the clinic may call 582-0218.
