North Olympic Land Trust adds new logo

The North Olympic Land Trust has a new project near the Lyre River and now has a new logo.

Inspired in part by its 2010 merger with Friends of the Fields — another regional organization whose mission was to preserve farmlands — the groups moved forward together with a refined mission expressed in the new tag line: “Farms, Fish & Forests.” Land Trust officials recently asked Laurel Black Design to create a new logo to serve as the basis for the Land Trust’s visual rebranding.

The new logo will be applied to materials used in communicating the activities and value of the Land Trust to a wider audience, particularly through a new website.

Laurel Black Design recently learned that the Land Trust’s new logo was selected as a winner in the 2014 American Graphic Design Awards competition, one of only 1,200 selected from a field of over 8,000 entries.

“After a number of years using a wonderful logo created by local designer Kelsey Redlin, we felt it was time to update our visual identity to match our enhanced mission of supporting community conservation of our local farms, fish and forests,” Land Trust Executive Director Tom Sanford said.

“Working with Laurel Black Design has been a great experience and fits with our goal to support local businesses. We are very pleased with the results.”
