Derelict crab pots discussed

The Puget Sound Anglers – North Olympic Peninsula Chapter’s monthly meeting features Joan Drinkwin from the Northwest Straits Foundation, who will speak about “Ghost Pots of Puget Sound.” The presentation covers work that has been done and is still needed to clean up the derelict crab pots and fishing nets that cover the bottom of Puget Sound. The meeting is at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave., Sequim.

Polar Bear tourney on tap

The Cedars at Dungeness golf course hosts the 22nd

Polar Bear Championship tournament, set for 9 a.m. shotgun starts Jan. 23-25. Format is 36-hole individual stroke play, with three amateur divisions and one pro division.

Cost is $140 per person. Fee includes three rounds of golf (practice round on Jan. 23), range balls, tee prizes, lunch on Jan. 25 and more. Entry deadline is Jan. 19. To register or for more information, call 683-6344 ext. 1.

Yoga classes at library

Yoga for Your Health kicks off the Taking Care of You program series at the Sequim Library at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23. The Taking Care of You wellness series features free monthly programs, January-June. Certified yoga teacher Julia Buggy will offer a brief introduction to the health benefits of yoga and provide basic yoga instruction for people who are new to yoga. This workshop is open to all ages.
