Ventriloquist to perform
The Juan De Fuca Foundation presents ventriloquist/comedienne Lynn Trezger at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at the Peninsula College Little Theater. Tickets are $20 (youth 14 and under $10). Ticket outlets are www.jffa.org (online), Port Book and News, Port Angeles; and Joyful Noise Music, Sequim.

What’s a gandy dancer? Why do many of the world’s railroads have different width tracks? Why was the Spruce Railroad a marvel of engineering and fast work but never used for its intended purpose? How did Shea and Climax locomotives shape early Clallam history?
Steve Hauff illuminates all things railroading during the six-week course from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Dungeness River Audubon Center, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, Sequim.
Course cost is $40 for historical or railroad society or river center members, $50 for non-members. Dates are March 24, March 31, April 7, April 14, April 21 and April 28.

Book signing at Nourish
Local author Lindy Mac-Laine invites the community to celebrate the launch of her book, “The Curse of the Neverland,” from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, March 21, in the room above Nourish Restaurant, 101 Provence View Lane, Sequim.
The event includes live music, face painting, refreshments, author reading and book signing.
A suggested donation of $1 for adults and 50 cents for children goes to Soroptimist International of Sequim for its work empowering girls.
Learn to bird by ear
Learn to bird by ear with a course that meets from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Fridays between March 20-June 19 at the Dungeness River Audubon Center, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, Sequim. The course cost is $60 for OPAS and DRAC members, $80 for non-members.
Dates are March 20, March 27, April 3, April 10, April 17, April 24, May 1, May 8, May 15, May 22, May 29, June 5, June 12 and June 19.

Photographers share underwater works
Olympic Peaks Camera Club will meet from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the Dungeness Community Church, 45 Eberle Lane, Sequim. This month’s speakers are Maurine Shimlock and Burt Jones, the principals of Secret Sea Visions, www.secretseavisions.com.
They will talk about “Photographing Nature’s Richest Reefs.” The talk focuses on underwater photography.
