Olympic Theatre Artswelcomes new director Charlotte Carroll from Juneau, Alaska, as she orchestrates a stirring new play, “Lark Eden,” by Natalie Symons.
The play chronicles the friendship of three Southern women over a period of 75 years beginning with the Depression era and continuing through the early years of the new century.
OTA also welcomes two additional newcomers to its stage: Charlotte Price in the role of Thelma, a prudent Christian woman who yearns to be a good mother; and Cheri Lemley as Emily, who is desperately searching for something to believe in. Returning to the OTA stage is Melissa Murray, who last appeared in “Crimes of the Heart.” She portrays Mary, a wise-mouthed, funny and feisty woman who spends the majority of her life caring for her mother and grandmother.
Production manager Elaine Caldwell said she feels this presentation will be a deeply moving reflection of American life.
“Lark Eden” opens on May 8 and will continue for two weekends through May 17. Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. All seats are $10. For tickets or more information, phone 683-7326. The OTA Box Office, 414 N. Sequim Ave., is open between 1-5 p.m. weekdays.
