Soroptimists seek artwork entries

Soroptimist International of Sequim is seeking artists and photographers who wish to have an original creation selected as the featured artwork for the 18th Annual Gala Garden Show which takes place March 19-20, 2016.

The annual Gala Garden Show is one of the peninsula’s premier events. More than 2,000 people attended this event in 2014 and 2015. Proceeds from the annual Gala Garden Show help fund many Sequim Soroptimist projects that benefit women and girls in local communities.

Each year an original work, donated by a local artist or photographer, is chosen to be the Garden Show logo. The logo is featured on marketing and publicity materials throughout the year. The selected artwork will be prominently displayed at the 2016 Gala Garden Show and at other public events earlier in the year. The artist or photographer also will be offered a free vendor booth at the 2016 Garden Show.

Criteria for artwork submissions

• Subject must be garden-related

Art Forms Eligible:

• Paintings and drawings in all mediums (oil, watercolor, pencil, pen, acrylic, chalk)

• Photography

• Computer and digital art/visual and graphic design

• Artwork must be no smaller than 8 inches by 10 inches and no larger than 17 inches by 24 inches.

The deadline for entry is July 10.
