Master knitter comes to Sequim yarn shop

A Dropped Stitch yarn shop, 136 S. Second Ave., Sequim, will host nationally known designer and master knitter Mary Jo Weaver during regular business hours from July 1-7.

Weaver will provide free demonstrations on machine knitting from simple shawls to patterned socks, plus methods of using the blending board for spinners, in addition to regular classes on cabling, finishing and pattern decoding. Call 683-1410 for information on free demonstrations.

Science magician comes to libraries

Magician Jeff Evans will perform at all North Olympic Library System locations this July as part of the ongoing 2015 Summer Reading Program. With demonstrations that look like magic, but can actually be explained through science, Evans will begin his tour of the peninsula on Monday, July 6, with a 6:30 p.m. performance at the Port Angeles Library.

Evans also will perform at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Sequim Library, and again at 2 p.m. at the Port Angeles Library. On Wednesday, July 8, Evans will perform at 3 p.m at the Clallam Bay Library, and at 7 p.m. at the Forks Library.
