No swimming, wading at P.A.’s Hollywood Beach

High bacterial concentrations in the waters off Hollywood Beach have been detected. Clallam County Health and Human Services, Environmental Health Section is advising the public to avoid recreational water contact (that is no swimming or wading) at Hollywood Beach in Port Angeles.

This beach closure advisory is in effect until retests of the water show satisfactory water quality. The next round of sampling is scheduled for July 7.

Contact with fecal contaminated waters can result in gastroenteritis, skin rashes, upper respiratory infections, and other illnesses. Children and the elderly may be more vulnerable to waterborne illnesses.
