Fiddlers plan festive Sequim Saturday

On Saturday, Oct. 10, the Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association meets at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, Sequim.
Special guests this month are Jeanie Murphy and Scott Marckx, who will lead workshops in banjo, fiddle and guitar. Workshops are from 11 a.m.-noon.
The public is welcome to join the workshops with a suggested donation of $10 for non-members.
After a break for lunch there will be all player jamming until 2 p.m. There will be an afternoon performance by association members from 2-3:30 p.m. More jamming is set from 4-5 p.m., with a potluck following.
At the meeting, the group also will have an old-time, grange-style contra dance from 7-10 p.m. Murphy will be calling the dance with music by the association’s all-star band.
There is no age limit and a suggested donation of $5, with those younger 15 free with an accompanied adult.
The Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and perpetuating the art of traditional old time fiddling and associated arts and skills.
