Ex-Wolf of the Week: Derrin Doty

Derrin Doty, a 1989 Sequim High graduate and former SHS baseball and basketball standout for the Wolves, helped lead the Crosspoint Academy girls soccer squad to the class 1B/2B state tournament where they knocked off Liberty Bell 4-2 in the quarterfinal round on Nov. 14.

Crosspoint’s Warriors, who went 8-0 in the SeaTac1B League and 10-6 overall in regular season, take on La Conner at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner on Nov. 20; La Conner beat Crosspoint 4-2 in the District 1/2 final on Nov. 7.

Doty was named 2014 SeaTac 1B League’s Coach of the Year and his daughter, Des Doty, was selected the league’s MVP that season.
