Anglers to talk winter fishing

The Puget Sound Anglers’ North Olympic Peninsula Chapter hosts its next meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave., Sequim.

Guest speaker John Beath speaks about “Winter Blackmouth Fishing.” Beath, a club member, is an author, tackle manufacturer, fishing guide at Whaler’s Cove Lodge Angoon, Alaska, and self-described “fish-a-holic.” He’ll talk about where, when, how and what to use to catch local blackmouth salmon in the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

The meeting includes refreshments, fishing reports, raffles for fishing gear and $50 membership drawing (must be present to win). This month’s raffle includes two rods — one for river fishing and one for salt trolling.
