Peninsula Men’s Gospel Singers present a sleigh load of never-before-performed songs and classics for their annual Christmas concerts on Dec. 12-13 in Sequim and Port Angeles.
They’ll be joined by numerous guests as well for the shows at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church, 925 N. Sequim Ave., and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St.
The 18 singers come from more than eight churches and will be joined by Scott Anders, a PA High School graduate and music student at Shoreline Community College, to play the Bach Prelude “#21 in Bb” and more.
Also playing are accompanist Penny Hall with sign language interpreter Karen Coles throughout the shows and Dr. Mike McBride playing a trombone solo on “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” and oboist John Zuener playing “Love Came Down at Christmas.”
Rivers arranged a special version of “Silent Night” for the show, which includes one of three original arrangements of carols by the director along with “Away in the Manger” and “Joy to the World.”
Audience members can sing along if they choose for classics “O Holy Night,” “What Child Is This?” and “O Come All Ye Faithful” too.
The shows are free with donations accepted for the group’s operations, including singing at Clallam Bay Corrections Center, retirement homes and various churches on the peninsula.
Following these shows, the group performs at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at Park View Villas, 1430 Park View Lane, Port Angeles. For seating availability, call 452-7222. For more information on the group, visit www.pmgospelsingers.com.
