Boys Basketball: Sequim drops finale at NK

North Kitsap ended Sequim’s season with a loss last week, knocking off the Wolves 74-50 on Feb. 2 in Poulsbo.
Cole Rabedaux led the Vikings with 27 points and eight rebounds.
North Kitsap jumped out to a 22-4 lead after one quarter and had a 35-18 lead by halftime.
North Kitsap forced 17 Sequim turnovers and held the Wolves to 14-of-49 (28.6 percent) shooting from the field.
Senior Jackson Oliver led Sequim (2-10 in Olympic League play, 6-14 overall) with 19 points, three steals and two assists while sophomore Payton Glasser added 17 points and six rebounds. Nick Faunce, in his final game as a Wolf, had a team-high eight rebounds, while fellow senior Jack Shea added nine points and five rebounds.
Besides Faunce, Oliver and Shea, the Wolves saw final games from seniors Arnold Black, Brendon Despain and Alec Holland.
North Kitsap (11-2, 17-4) topped Olympic later in the week in a battle of top teams to give the Vikings the Olympic League title and top seed heading to districts.
By the numbers
Glasser led the Wolves in scoring for the 2015-2016 season, averaging 11.6 points per game, followed by Oliver’s 11.4 ppg.
Glasser also led the Wolves in rebounding with 108 in all, or 5.4 per contest. Faunce was second with 5.3 per game.
Faunce led the squad with 25 3-pointers made, with Glasser second (14). Faunce also led the tam with 35 assists.
Oliver paced Sequim with 36 steals and had a team-high nine blocks while Faunce had eight.
