Girls Basketball: Haggerty gets all-Olympic League nod

Sequim High junior Adrienne Haggerty is the lone Wolf on the all-Olympic League basketball squads.

Haggerty was named to the second team, announced by coaches last week, posting strong numbers for a squad that went 2-10 in league play and 6-13 overall.

Nizhoni Wheeler of Port Angeles and Danielle Monzon of Olympic were selected co-league MVPs while North Kitsap’s Penny Gienger took home Coach of the Year and North Mason the Team Sportsmanship award. Maddie Boe of Port Angeles earned an all-league second team selection.

On the boys’ side, Sequim players earned the league’s Team Sportsmanship award. The Wolves were 2-10 in league play and 6-14 overall.

Shooting guard Cole Rabedeaux of North Kitsap was selected the Olympic League boys’ MVP. Port Angeles’ Lambrose Rogers was named to the first team. NK’s Scott Orness took home the Coach of the Year award.
