Grand opening at Robin’s

Robin’s Place, 300 E. Washington St., Sequim, will have a grand opening from 5-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. There will be free samples of the diner’s many lunch and dinner options, a Halloween costume contest for all ages with prizes and live music. Seating is limited so bring a lawn chair. Easton honored by peers

Ralph Elston, co-owner and president of AquaTechnics Inc. of Sequim was honored as the 2016 Prince of Tides by the Pacific Coast Shellfish Growers Association at its annual conference in Chelan from Oct. 11-14. He was chosen because of his service to the shellfish farming community in protecting shellfish health and the marine environment. AquaTechnics has provided marine environmental services from its Sequim office since 1995.

Open house set at CRTC

Peninsula College invites the public to an open house from 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at its Composite Recycling Technology Center, 2220 W. 18th St., Port Angeles. Meet current CRTC students and faculty, speak to industry professionals, tour the manufacturing lab and watch live demonstrations.

Drennan collects sweaters for vets

Drennan & Ford Funeral Home and Crematory is the exclusive Veterans & Family Memorial Care Provider for Clallam County and is sponsoring its seventh annual Sweaters for Veterans initiative. From Nov. 2-11, Drennan is collecting new or gently used sweaters, warm clothing, blankets, rain gear, gloves, hats, socks, etc., to be distributed to individual veterans within the county in need of these items. First Federal announces recognition achievements

First Federal recently announced several employee achievements:

Jeff Davis, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has been named to a three-year term to Fiserv’s National Strategic Planning Council. This council is comprised of members who act as representatives of the client base to provide advice and ideas to Fiserv, an industry leader, regarding industry issues.

Brett Bies, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for First Federal, presented at this year’s IT Summit-Seattle on the topic of “Entrepreneurial IT – The Fusion of Business and IT.” IT Summit Seattle is an executive technology conference that provides educational and networking resources for the IT leaders in the Puget Sound area.

Jackie Gold, Vice President and Loan Servicing Manager, was one of eight Washington bankers to complete the Washington Bankers Association Management Development Program. The program focuses on developing a solid understanding of the skills necessary to lead banks, employees and communities into the future.
