On May 12, two Sequim Rotarians received a very special award: Bryce Fish and Jim Pickett received a Distinguished Service Award from their Sequim Sunrise Rotary peers. The ceremony was attended by Rotary’s District Governor Joanne Croghan.

Each of the Rotarians’ volunteer and philanthropic contributions extend outside the boundaries of Rotary and into Sequim and the greater Olympic Peninsula. During the presentation, it was said the list of organizations Fish and Pickett have assisted likely would be too large to list; they have been volunteering in their communities for 26 and 23 years, respectively.

In 2006, Fish was a recipient of the Clallam County Community Service Award. In 2007, Pickett received the same award and in 2010 Pickett also was selected as Sequim’s Citizen of the Year.

With 85 members, the Sequim Sunrise Rotary meets at 7 a.m. Fridays at Sunland Golf &Country Club, 109 Hilltop Drive.
