Summertime is the perfect time to rock out while helping conserve some local farmland.

Join the North Olympic Land Trust at Olympic Lavender Company’s scenic Dungeness Heritage Farm for the second annual “Rock the Land Trust” — a community concert for local land conservation — on Saturday, July 22.

The event kicks off with a salmon bake and barbecue from Port Angeles-based Italian restaurant Bella Italia.

At 6 p.m., Joy in Mudville — a homegrown Olympic Peninsula, Americana and progressive old-time bluegrass group — hits the stage.

Cost is a $10 donation, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the North Olympic Land Trust. The suggested entrance fee does not include dinner and drinks.

Rock the Land Trust aims to benefit the North Olympic Land Trust and its mission to conserve lands that sustain the ecological, economic and social vitality of Clallam County. The land trust is dedicated to the conservation of open spaces, local food, local resources, healthy watersheds and recreational opportunities. Within its 27-year history, the land trust has helped to protect and permanently conserve more than 3,300 acres for farms, fish and forests.
