HELEN HALLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Students in Stephanie Nash’s kindergarten class spent the last two weeks learning about the five senses: sight, touch, hearing, taste and smell. They explored how each sense works, how senses help them learn about the world, and how they keep them safe too!

To finish the unit, students collaborated with partners to create a poster about each sense and presented it to the class. One of the highlights of the unit was when students posed for a five senses photo-op and wrote about their favorite sense.

Students’ writing:

Mason Blake: My favorite sense is tasting because I like the taste of ice cream.

Bill Hernandez Vivaldo: I like hearing. I like echoes.

Emma Abken: Tasting because I like frosting.

Camren Williams: I like tasting. I like food.

GREYWOLF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

We had a great day in Carmen Merring’s room! Two volunteers from the Sequim Kiwanis Club recently brought in two custom-built bulletin boards for her fourth-grade classroom. This solves a problem with too many holes in the wall.
