Tickets for Sequim Community Christmas Chorus go on sale this week

Too early to think about Christmas? Think again.

Tickets are now on sale for the Sequim Community Christmas Chorus, with performances set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3. All performances are at Sequim Seventh-day Adventist Church, 30 Sanford Lane.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, Bauer Interior Design (119 N. Sequim Ave.), Forage Gifts & Northwest Treasurers (121 W. Washington St.) and Elliott’s Antique Emporium (135 E. 1st St., Port Angeles).

Get tickets in advance for $5 at one of these outlets above, or make a suggested donation of $5 at the door. Children younger than 12 get in free.

The chorus presents a program of sacred Christmas music including favorites such as “Hallelujah Chorus” and “Peace, Peace,” in addition to selections such as “Make a Joyful Noise” and “The Many Moods of Christmas.”

The chorus is once again be directed by Gary McRoberts, a director with more than 30 years’ experience, accompanied by pianist Donna Grubbs. Guest performers include a quartet from the Sequim Community Orchestra’s Kids’ Strings Program, recipient of the chorus’s $1,000 donation last year.

Again this year, the chorus will make a donation from proceeds to the program that introduces elementary school children to music.
