Retired physical therapist Barb Paschal presents a free WOW! Working on Wellness Forum titled “Surprise Gifts: Less Hip and Knee Pain” at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., Sequim.
Most people don’t realize how closely connected and interdependent our hips and knees are. All four of these joints are so important to our mobility and balance, and despite injuries, surgeries, and arthritis, our hips and knees can have less pain and more opportunity for increased strength and flexibility.
At the workshop, learn easy ways to give yourself the gift of happier and healthier hips and knees.
Paschal has helped people of all ages struggle with disabilities. She believes that our bodies are amazing, and that exercising them can be fun and rewarding.
From 1:45-2:15 p.m., volunteer nurses from the clinic will be available to check the blood pressure of anyone who may be interested.
WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic, Sequim’s free clinic.
The clinic provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members.
Their work is supported by more than 70 volunteers including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations from the Sequim community and beyond.
The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients on Mondays and Thursdays beginning at 5 pm.
