‘Friends’ to serve free supper, show
The Peninsula Evangelical Friends Church congregation serves food for body and soul at free “Supper and a Show” gatherings at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at 1291 N. Barr Road.
The Oct. 10 show is titled, “Is Genesis Real?” A professionally produced, full-length movie speaks to the authenticity of Genesis based on scientific evidence. It premiered in theaters last year.
“This is a family-friendly event for all ages,” Vicki Carlisle, clerk of the Social Committee, said. “Parents can bring their children and watch the movie together as they eat and be home by bedtime.”
Supper is homemade soup with bread or rolls and home-baked cookies. The movie starts as soon as people are served. “We are reaching out to meet the need for food for body and soul,” Carlisle said.
