Funds help Olympic Nature Experience facilitate outdoor learning

With support from the Ben and Myrtle Walkling Memorial Trust, Olympic Nature Experience — a local nonprofit offering youth education in Sequim — will now be able to offer families in some of their programs outdoor gear to keep their children safe and warm in the winter.
“Creating outdoor learning opportunities, safely, year round, allows children to build resilience and opens up a host of learning opportunities that only the changing seasons can provide,” says Sarah Greenwald, administrative director and lead teacher of homeschool enrichment classes at Olympic Nature Experience (ONE).
“But it can be a challenge when the children don’t have access to quality jackets, boots and rain gear. That is why we are so grateful to partner with the Ben and Myrtle Walkling Memorial Trust to provide outdoor gear for our families.”
Olympic Nature Experience’s programs are expanding, representatives say, as ONE is offering summer camps, early learning, homeschool and after-school programs for children ages 3-12.
