Sheriff’s office: Sex offender to live in Sequim neighborhood

A registered sex offender has told authorities his intent to live in the Sequim area, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office reported last week.

Alexander Holmes Wright, 52, who has two child molestation convictions and two kidnapping convictions in Georgia, will live on the 200 block of Williamson Road, the sheriff’s office announced.

According to law enforcement officials, Wright in 2004 was convicted of kidnapping and child molestation on two separate occasions in two different counties. In Camden County, Ga., Wright was convicted for kidnapping and molesting an 8-year-old girl. In McIntosh County, Ga., he was convicted of kidnapping and molesting a female toddler.

The victims in both cases were not related to Wright.

Wright served his sentence in Georgia and moved to Sequim after his release.

According to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, Wright’s previous criminal history places him in a classification level which reflects the potential to re-offend. He is required to register with the sheriff’s office, officials said.

“This notification is not intended to increase fear; rather, it is our belief that an informed public is a safer public,” sheriff’s office officials said.
