Opting for funds over food donations this year, organizers of the annual Sequim Cranksgiving event reported a big haul in 2020.

Tom Coonelly noted that the 10th-annual event, one that traditionally sees dozens of bike riders and others gather food from various local stores to donate to the Sequim Food Bank, drew monetary donations to the tune of more than $8,700 on Nov. 21.

“Thank you for stepping up and helping our Food Bank,” Coonelly wrote after totals were compiled.

The Sequim Food Bank is unable to accept physical food donations and is asking for funds instead.

Cransgiving crew included Coonelly, Jack Landstrom, Stan Smith, Dave Neidhardt, Suzie Schneider, Jack Earhart, Susan Gilleland and Al Streeter, who helped publicize the event and handled donations on site for the event.
