The community is invited to enjoy a day of classic cars, raffles, food, music and more at the fifth-annual Sequim Prairie Nights.

The event is set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, in downtown Sequim, on West Washington Street between Sequim Avenue and Third Avenue.

Highlighted by a car show-and-shine, Sequim Prairie Nights is held primarily to raise scholarship funds for graduating Sequim high school students, organizers say.

This year, organizers are able to sponsor three Sequim High graduates: Andres Benitez, Northwest Lineman College; Cole Tierney, Northwest Lineman College, and Melanie Byrne, Peninsula College (welding). Each scholarship is worth $1,000.

The scholarship selection process is overseen by Olympic View Community Foundation.

An additional goal of Sequim Prairie Nights, organizers say, is to bring individuals to the downtown core, encouraging them to visit local business’s and eateries.
