Sequim’s City Arts Advisory Commission is seeking entries of art, in any medium, for the next exhibit in the Karen Kuznek-Reese Gallery at the Sequim Civic Center.
The theme for the exhibit is “solstice.” Artists are encouraged to submit pieces that visually explore the contrasts people experience in the Pacific Northwest during the long summer days and dark winter nights.
This theme, exhibit organizers note, is open to interpretation.
“Artists are encouraged to submit work that explores the concepts of heat and cold, light and dark, summer and winter, sun and moon, yin and yang,” organizers said.
Deadline for submissions is 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Only digital applications will be considered. To enter, complete the form at form.jotform.com/221776501788162; the form allows for downloads up to three images (preferably 300 dpi).
All entries will be juried by the commission by Monday, Sept. 19, and artists will be notified of their status by Thursday, Sept. 22.
