VHOCC offers online grief support group

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC) is sponsoring a six-week online grief support group from 2-4 p.m. each Tuesday from Aug. 30-Oct. 4 via Zoom.

Organizers say the group offers a place for participants to share their feelings and experiences with grief; gain a clearer understanding of the mourning process, and learn coping skills and strategies for dealing with the emotional pain of loss.

Confidentiality is essential to foster an environment of openness, trust and acceptance, they said.

Donna Greer, previously an advisor to student veterans at Peninsula College and the owner of Shore Pine Productions, will facilitate the group. Her own experiences with dying and death, program organizers say, help her appreciate the importance of providing a safe space to talk about the death of a loved one.

Attendance is free, but registration is required. Enrollment will be limited to allow more sharing.
